Payment
I understand that as soon as I submit my application, paperwork and payment, the Miss Permian Basin Pageant automatically makes the necessary plans for my participation in the pageant. Therefore, if I should drop out of the pageant, do not meet the eligibility requirements, or must cancel my participation for any reason, there will be no refund of the payment, nor for any fees paid subsequent to the initial payment. All fees paid are not transferable.

*Titleholders of the Miss and Teen Miss Permian Basin divisions will have their $1,195 entry fees to MISS TEXAS USA® 2023 & MISS TEXAS TEEN USA® 2023 paid.

This rule does not apply to Miss Permian Basin contestants)• I have never given birth to a child, am not a parent/guardian, and am not currently pregnant (Applies to Miss Permian Basin Teen contestants only. This rule does not apply to Miss Permian Basin USA contestants)• I have never had semi-nude or nude photos or footage taken of me• I will have lived in West Texas at least 3 months prior to the pageant or am currently a full time student in West Texas.

Further Eligibility RequirementsMust be a citizen of the United States and will remain a citizen of the United States through the state pageant and, if you win the state pageant, through the national Pageant.Must comply with the age requirement for either Miss or Teen division or other divisons.Must represent and warrant that you are a female (recognized medically and legally as a female in the United States).Must never have been married or had a marriage annulled.(Applies to Miss Permian Basin Teen contestants & younger divisions only. This rule does not apply to Miss or Ms Permian Basin contestants)Must never have given birth to a child, cannot be a parent or guardian of any other adult or minor person, and cannot currently be pregnant.(Applies to Miss Permian Basin Teen contestants & younger divisions only. Judging Criteria
INTERVIEW – Pageant judges spend time with each delegate to learn about her successes, talents, goals and ambitions. Attention is focused on her poise, charm, self – confidence and her ability to communicate, as well as the substance of her answers.
SWIMSUIT (MISS)/ACTIVEWEAR (TEEN) – Attention is focused on beauty of the face, figure, physical fitness and the confidence with which each contestant carries herself. Numerical measurements are not considered in the judging.
EVENING GOWN – Each delegate wears a gown she has chosen for herself. Attention is focused on each contestant’s overall appearance, self-confidence, sense of style and the beauty she brings to the gown of her choice.

The Permian Basin and Miss Permian Basin Teen Pageants are looking for diverse young women who are not only beautiful, but intelligent and willing to share their hearts and minds as ambassadors to our area, state and nation. Winning our titles propel you to become role models. It is important that they understand that, along with the prizes and glamour, comes a responsibility to the pageant system, sponsors, community, and to the state of Texas. There is no end to the possibilities and opportunities that await, and their year as titleholders is certain to be one full of personal growth and development.

The Competition
THE COMPETITIONThe pageant is divided into 3 categories: Evening Gown, Personal Interview, and Swimsuit (Activewear for teen contestants). The judges look for an all around winner. The winner may not be the most outstanding in any one category, but may score well in all categories. The judging is based on poise, personality, intelligence, and beauty.
There is no talent competition and no experience is necessary. In addition to choosing MISS PERMIAN BASIN or MISS PERMIAN BASIN TEEN, awards will be presented to the Swimsuit/Activewear Winner, Most Photogenic, People’s Choice, and Miss Congeniality.

Evening Gown – There are no specific requirements regarding the gown other than that it should be full length, fits appropriately, and compliments your physical features and personal stylePersonal Interview Attire – Daytime outfit that you feel is appropriate for interview, something that suits your taste and personality.
